Hi all, many thanks to the mods and members who contribute to this great site!

I've been here for a couple of days and have already signed up to the 5 day course and bought Jeff's rub and sauce recipe.

I am in the process of building a smoker (125 gal) and was leaning towards a double barrel type. But, after searching this site, I really like the looks of the reverse flow unit. What are the pro's and con's of each?

Looking forward to learning from the pro's

I'm glad I found this site! BTW keep an eye out for another new member ....fogducker.... he is the fellow that will be fabricating the smoker. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks

First of all I am still mad at your hockey team!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding!!!!! Welcome to the SMF. I can't help you with any info on a reverse flow as I have no experience with them at all but I know someone will be along soon to give you some info. Make sure you post pictures of your build and post them on here. We love seeing that kind of stuff. I can't wait to see some qview come from your new pit.

, was a close one though. I will post pics as they come. This might sound like a real newbie question (cause it is) what is a Qview?

Qview is pictures of your smoking meat. Its what we love on this forum. We love looking at everyones smokings and drool over them.

Also just a bit of info if you see items in bold green such as UDS, Qview, BGE just put your curser over them and there will be a little pop up that will appear and explain what it is. They are just abreviations.

First off welcome Bullwinkle to SMF. It sounds like you are well on your way to be an outstanding new member of this fine site. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anything to do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.

Hi Dave, I'm in southern Ontario, but wander up your way in the fall for my annual moose hunt (International falls/Ft. Frances area) plenty of great walley fishing lakes for sure.

I think I'm hooked on this site...
