Well folks, the day has finally come. . . . .my new rig has been delivered and right away, after a snowstorm that has rocked the northeast, I am outside with a case of beer seasoning this baby. This is my first ever grill/smoker so I had to go for something that was good quality. I have taken a couple of pictures about 2 hours ago now, I am still in the middle of seasoning it. More pics will come once it is finished up. . . . . hmmm I tried to upload the pics but they are a lil over 1 mb each, any suggestions on how I can get them on here?/

I got the CharGriller Duo w/SFB and because of all the snow we have been getting, had to season it today with flurries and 38 degree temp.

Getting the chimney starter ready to go

My only complaint about it is the temp guages that come with it. They are really horrible. I had it goin for about 2 hours and it was still reading, put another load of hickory in and then it jumped to 700. So it is definitel gonna take some feeling out and I have a feeling some ruined meat as well in the beginning

Does anyone know of a RELIABLE temp guage and where I can find it? I really wanna get this taken care of sooner rather than later so I have something to depend on ya know?

Congrats on your new smoker/grill. Is that the one that they have at Lowe's with a regular grill and a smoker too.???

Congrats on the smoker looks like your having fun

Yep, it sure is. I have been looking/pricing/reviewing smokers for about 2 months now and when I stumbled upon this, I couldn't pass up being able to use the gas grill when I want something fast and then being able to hang outside all day using the smoker

Price wise, these things are absolutely ridiculous online. I saw them as high as $540, and then of course my local Lowe's had it for $299 so I jumped all over that!

Hey SmokeFever,

Congrats on the New Rig. I believe you will be very happy with it.

I have had mine (minus the SFB) for just less than a year. I truly enjoy it. It is very versatile with both charcoal and gas. I have Que'd on the charcoal side while baking (really baking) a pie on the gas side, the temps on the gas side are very consistent and the side burner is also very useful for the starter chimeny as well as the coffee maker at our campsite.

I also have the CharGiller Pro Smoker that I use almost every weekend and am just as happy with. I think that CharGriller makes a great product.

One note I may make, when you put somethimg on the shelf underneath the charcoal side you may push the drip pan out the back so be aware.

Many good smokes to you!!!
