Hello,

I have been cooking on a gas grill for the past 15 years and just now starting to get into smoking (with a real smoker anyways) I have done several briskets on my gas grill it has a built in smoker box. I bought a split door brinkmann charcoal smoker from wal-mart and have used it a couple of times and as of this morning I just finished building a brick fire pit and plan on cooking with it. I found this forum and seen that it had a lot of good info and figured I better get in on it.

Welcome to the SMF. Glad to have you here. Lots of good folks here and knowledge. Looking forward to your first qview.

Welcome to SMF, I grew up in Albuquerque, met my wife there and kids born there, 7 1/2 years ago move to Wichita Kansas and 2 1/2 years ago move here outside Baton Rouge LA,

We do miss NM , the best Mexican food, New Mexican food .

Thanks for all the welcomes, I will take some pics of my brick pit as soon as I can it is currently snowing, it sucks I was hoping to fire it up today. I live between Farmington and Aztec and definitely love the green chile. There is a place outside of Aztec called sutherland farms and that is where we get our green chile and I will take whole chiles and sprinkle some garlic salt on them and throw em on the grill yummy! I also work in the oilfields here and with all the bad weather, we have been getting shut down a lot so it gives me time to play at home. From the looks of it outside right now I may not be working tomorrow, oh well maybe I can smoke something instead.
