I was looking at that also.
I would place a aluminum meat loaf pan on both sides of the heating element to catch most of the drippings, add a inch or so of water to the pans for more moisture. you can kill two birds with one stone.
or just place a cookie sheet under the burner to catch the drippings.

I did that and it seemed to work great but I've also heard of people putting a sheet under the food on the lowest rack to catch the drippings also. So I may try that next time too.

What was the make on that fridge it makes a bad ass smoker. Id like to do a fridge smoker. I have a windowless masterbuilt 30 and i need so much more room than it has...
