Found a burner for smokehouse

I do have an adjustable regulator hooked up to a quick connect that I use for my crawfish burner that I'm planning on using. I will use pipe to get the burner connected to the smoke house wall with a bulkhead fitting and a quick connect. That way I can just unplug my bottle right from the outside and it's solid pipe inside

When I build the next one. I will hard line it as well. I started with a high pressure regulator, then moved to an adjustable regulator, then my father in law needed a high pressure regulator because he bought the wrong one. So we swapped. I do also have a needle valve witin my lines.
 
Depending on how vented your smoke house is, you may encounter the problem with the fire "Smothering" making it hard to regulate the heat like I did. The fire would even go out (smoker full of gas...not good). I ended up putting a 3" stove pipe thru the wall to the burner where the air mix regulator plate is. Then run my hose thru the pipe to the burner. I easly control the heat now. (PS made my own smoke generator on the style of a "Big PIG").

about 8 inches of my hose is in my smoker and it seems to be find. I think most hoses are built to withstand a good amount of heat. If you're worried there are some thermal tapes that you could use to give you a little extra protection.

Well, the deck underneath my smokehouse has rotted beyond repair (it's only 30 years old, pressure-treated lumber!). So, my wife wanted a new and larger deck. We got estimates, built and stained, from $1900 to $6100. The $1900 was from a painter we'd hired to paint the outside of the house, plus the parts of the inside, so we gave him the job. He and two others came and built the deck one day, then finished staining it the next. Poof! Done! Yesterday's work: (they just pushed the smokehouse onto the porch)

Have to wait for the rest of the stain to dry, will take a photo tomorrow with everything back in place. Just in time, too... smoking two loin halves for side (Canadian) bacon and two parts of pork shoulder boneless blades for Buck Board Bacon this Friday for company coming Sunday!
