I'm thinking about building a 30 gallon drum (medium ugly drum)and at the moment I'm going electric. I want a PLUG N PLAY for the day that I can't de-volt the entire day to. On second thought I'll do a multi fuel and build a basket for the wood and or charcoal. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Well then mr. graybeard you build it and they will come. If you are going to build a small smoker then make it electric then why would you make a basket for charcoal and or wood???? It sounds like a novel idea and all some bui;d it and take some pictures too.

I thought about a shorty UDS and went full size 55 Gal. I'm glad I did. The hardware ie. grills are perfect size. Plus heat control is alot better.

Can't imagine why you'd want a Medium size and not large.

The Brinkman electric is really cheap if smaller sized plug-and-play is what you're aiming for.
