Made some babies this weekend...honey chipotle glazed

Thought I would make some candy ribs this weekend.

2 racks of IBP baby backs <wife likes them better>

Rub was:
1/4 cup raw sugar
1/4 cup Kosher salt
1/8 cup brown sugar, dried
1/8 cup paprika
4 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon Accent (MSG)
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 teaspoon Chipotle powder
1 teaspoon Chile powder



Getting the coals hot in the chimney



Ready for foil after 2 hours. Foiled with honey, little more rub, and apple juice. 2 hours later they are ready for the glaze.

1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/8 cup any barbeque sauce (Used KC Masterpiece)
3 tablespoons orange juice (I used lemonade lastnight)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon chile powder
1/2 teaspoon chipotle powder



The glaze was so good the wife wanted it again. So lasnight I made homemade chicken tenders and tossed them in the sauce. Mmmmm...tastes almost like Chili's honey chipotle sauce.

No pics of the ribs cut up, they didn't last long!

Great looking ribs. Nice recipes too, though if I made that rub I would have to leave out the MSG. Defiantly going to have to do the Honey Chipotle glaze~ When I order ribs at Chili's I get them with the H/C glaze.

Thanks, they weren't too bad. I like a change sometimes from the norm. I also simmered the glaze for about 10 minutes to develop the flavors a little bit more. I might go less cayenne and a little more chipotle in the glaze next time.
