My name is Scott and reside in Tallahassee.... Living amongst the savages. I didn't realize we were supposed to start here so I already posted my first Q-View here...http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/for...ad.php?t=88100 And it answers the smoker question. As far as just beginning or pit master I would have to say I am far from both. I have smoked in everything from a gutted out refrigerator to a hole in the ground, but this is my first vertical off set so it is taking me sometime to get my temperatures right but i'm learning my new smoker rather quickly.

Anyway that's a little about me and if you have any questions just ask cause I'm full of them and I'll eventually do the same.

Thanks for having me and I look forward to sharing more Sundays around smoker with you guys.

Scott

And my smoker...

Scott welcome to SMF glad you decided to join us. I spend some time in Tallahassee as well and find there are quite a few of us Gators around there. You'll find lots of good info and some great recipes here. Have fun and happy smoking. Just curious do you have a brother thats also a member of this site?

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Yes but please don't tell anybody and please don't hold it against me

In fact I think you helped him out with about 40 or so butts not too long ago!

Posted your first Qview before coming to Roll Call! Hmmmm....
I think we might have to place you into smoker time out, or if you like you can fire it up and smoke us some goodies like that amazingly delicious looking lamb.
Mentioned I had debated for a while about doing lamb, well your post sure made up my mind, thanks!
And welcome

Thanks for the kind words. I love lamb, but this was my first attempt at smoking one. It was great but I think next time I'm going to try cooking it a little slower. The hardest part of this new smoker is learning temperature control. I need to spend a whole day just burning wood and learning my cold spots and hot spots but it's just so tempting loading it up with meat and that cuts down on my "research" time.

Hello Scott, and welcome to the SMF. It's all good my friend.
