Well my buddy came through and got me a 30 lb case of pork loin back ribs for $31.50. Now my only problem is they come in a box and they are all frozen together they are not individually packaged and I can't bust them apart at all right now. I was going to try and thaw them just enough so I can break them apart and then vacume seal two per pack and put them back in the freezer. Anyone have any better thoughts.

Yeah, send em to me. I'll get em apart. Hell, I'll even store them here for ya till your ready for em LOL.

I think like you said, thaw to the point where you can get them apart them re-package them.
That's a good deal on ribs. Wish I had a friend like that

From a relative newbie - I think re-freezing is under- rated. Thaw them enough to bust then apart, repackage, and refreeze. That should be just fine if you aren't a commercial operation.

OK - just checking to see if my bride's not looking over my shoulder.

I agree...Thaw util you can get them apart and then repackage and freeze or just send them to Tennessee...the Smoke Wagon and my 12 kids will take of them.........

That will definately work if defrosted under refrigeration. Hell it might take a week though.

It is uasually allowed to refreeze meat again after thawing (once)....just ask your local meatcutter in the grocery store......Don't you usually take larger food quanities apart an then freeze them.....most meat has usually already been frozen once before you get it....but they advise you not to thaw and refreeze again after you have done it once....!!!
