I can't say enough good things about the Brinkmann Smoke'n Pit, AKA the SnP.

I moved from an ECB bullet to an offset Brinkman with a vertical box 7-8 years ago. I used it a lot and I'm pretty sure it was around $350. Just googled it and I think I had a Smoke King Delux.

Having said that, I am thinking about replacing/rebuilding the firebox because the lid has rusted through from the outside, the door vents have been rust frozen for years, and the bottom of the box it pretty thin. Realize, this is Houston and we have tons of rain as well as humidity, so if you live in a drier climate, you might not have as many problems as I did.

All in all, I got some really good years, but not a lifetime like the others have said for the really well built ones.

Now using a Hasty Bake which was expensive, but built like a battleship and you can move the firebox up and down to smoke, bake, or grill. I like it a lot.

I was just at Home Depot buying a new weber kettle and saw a BEAUTIFUL Brinkmann SnP for $199. That sounded like an awesome price to me, and the Home Depot one doesn't look like the ones you see on their website (which was linked previously in this thread). All black steel, no wood handles.

Anybody know much about this SnP??

Edit: and it was NOT this one either... it specifically said Smoke n Pit on the upper right side and looked really solid.

I agree you should save a little more and get a heavy gauge pit, if you don't need a big brand name check out bellfab, the one in my avatar only cost $700, Bellfabs 20 x 36 heavy gauge pits are $450, of course it would be a little hard on you to ship one from tulsa OK, it cost one member here about $175 from tulsa to chicago so it would have to be a little more at least to go to NY, considering the competition charges $850 plus for the same sized pit you could surely ship one for less than $400

I have a buddy that lives in NJ and loves this place

they are a couple hundred higher than my local horizon dealer however. The horizons are great pits, I would have bought one of them but to get the size I got I was looking at $2245, which I could not do
