After much research and much help from this site, I've decided to get a WSM. I've been using a New Braunfels sidebox model for years and years, but I'd like to smoke more with a tad bit less work.

Questions: Which size should I get? The tried and true 18" model or the new 22" model? Are there any features of the newer one that makes it better or is it just size? I'll do lots of ribs and shoulders, the occasional whole ham or turkey.

Also, are there any accesories I should consider? I want to be ready to smoke something once I get the thing!

thanks to all!

Either will be great. If I remember rite, you can almost buy 2 18" for the price of the 22"
I have an 18, wished I would have got it sooner, Nice addition to my Horizon.

Couldn't have said it better

I really like my 18' WSM when I'm doing some smaller cooks for just us and maybe a few friends. I have yet to fill it all the way up to see how much it will hold. About the only thing to buy extra is some good charcoal. Oh, a charcoal chimney is a must have if ya don't already have one.
