Hey all, I have a tenderloin question. I grilled a tenderloin once on my Weber Performer, but haven't truly smoked one yet. Any suggestions on Rubs, wood?
I have plenty of pecan on hand. The tenderloin I did on the grill a year ago was just sprinkled with kosher salt and a little pepper. It was good, but if i can do something to add a little more pizazz, I am up for suggestions.
Thanks
-Jim

You don't want anything too strong flavored. I use a mix of Penzey'z Cajun & English Prime Rib Seasonings. Also good would be lightly coat the meat with dijon mustard then sprinkle with garlic powder, CBP & Celery Salt.

Got 2 going on the smoke in about 3 hours.

The first place you should look is right on the top of this page that orange and blue logo there that says "My famous rub and sauce" thats the first one you should try and to answer your question Yes it is that good too. Then if you want a store bought rub thats also good (in my eyes) try soe old bay rub it's not the same as the seafood seasonings it a real rub.
