Was like a little kid awaiting this one from Rivet (John). Kept checking FedEx tracking, so I can run outside to open up this little treasure chest. This was my first exchange on SMF, and a great one at that.

Well here's the contents:

Curley's Smoky BBQ Sauce
Curley's Hickory BBQ Sauce
Curley's Mesquite BBQ Sauce
Curley's Hot & Spicy BBQ Sauce
Chipotle Dry Rub & Marinade
Strawberry's Grand Champion BBQ Seasoning
Yucatan Style Green Achiote paste (Achiote Verde)
Chimichurri Marinade & Rub
2 bags of mini marshmallows (worked great as packaging material, not to mention my 15 month daughter tried them for the first time today)

I've been hearing about the GREATNESS of Curley's BBQ, and today I got to try it for the first time. I opened up the Hickory bottle, and the smell put a smile on my face. Took a small swig (lol) and it tasted great. Consistency is similar to that of our local Sweet Baby Ray's. Might have to do a blind judging on this one. Good stuff. I haven't opened up the others, but I'm sure I will soon, as I continue to grill/smoke through the (relatively calm) Chicago winter.

Almost passed the taste test:

Tried a pinch of the Chipotle Rub - this stuff is going to go great in Sunday football chili. I'm sure this will keep me and my guests happy, since the Bears cannot. The other BBQ seasoning was also mighty tasty, and will use it on chicken shortly.

The Chimichurri marinade will be perfect for marinading Arrachera for a batch of home made tacos.

Now about the Achiote Verde paste - I have no freakin idea what to do with this one.

I've never used it, but am assuming will work well diluted with lime juice, etc, as a marinade for chicken or pork.

Awesome experience for my first SMF Exchange! I hope to do many more, so please let me know if you'd like to Exchange in the future.

Thanks Rivet!

Hey Bud, glad you enjoyed the package and it looks like the little girl already knows good BBQ sauce!

You'll like the achiote~ will make a good wet rub just like you said with lime juice or you can add some apple cider vinegar as well.

Good smokes to you and have a Merry Christmas!

you just have to love theses exchanges. They are like a small christmas you get them from the mail box and you rip into them and then you want to go play with all your new toys. So run out and smoke something.

Nice package Martin, and ya that curley's is some good stuff!!! Looks like you have some pretty busy holidays behind the smoker-grill in store.

Great exchange, you are going to love that Curley's, gooooood stuff

Tried the chimichurri seasoning was amazing on a chuckie.

One suggestion if you are looking for something to use the achiote in AND want to try something new on the smoker I would say try it out on some puerco pibil, you won't regret it.
