Was not expecting this! Somehow Bob (desertlites) found out my address and mailed me a package 'o goodies. Must have "ins" with the local Sheriff or something.
Got the package several days ago, but just getting around to posting pics now, with all the last minute shopping and stuff to take care of.
Well - what can I say? Just in time for Christmas! I got a bunch of good local Arizona stuff. From left to right:
Chef Merito Steak & Meat Seasoning
Chef Merito Chicken Seasoning
17th Street Market Five Amigos Fire Roasted Pepper Salsa
Bill Johnson's BBQ sauce
Santa Cruz Chipotle Paste
Rio Mayo Hot Sauce
El Pato Tomato Sauce (Mexican Hot Style)
El Pato Tomato Sauce with Jalapeno
First thing I did was season up some wings with the Chef Merito Chicken Seasoning. This stuff is awesome, sweet and tangy at the same time - real nice balance. On to the next thing - I devoured the Roasted Pepper Salsa in 1 night with some authentic torilla chips. Nice and hot and very flavorful. Wish I had this around here. The Santa Cruz Chipotle Paste smells wonderful - would go nice with some shredded chicken.
The Smoked Hot Pepper sauce is mighty hot indeed! A drop is really all you need - and goes good mixed into Ramen Noodle Soup (college days).
Haven't tried the Hot Tomato Sauces, but will keep them for my next batch of tacos. I need to finish my other bottles of BBQ sauce before I open this one, but I'm sure this stuff is great also.
Now onto the Prickly Pear Cactus Candy. Bob must be really trying to tell me something, as prickly pear extract is one of the best things to combat a hangover (http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/...ver-cure_x.htm), and he's heard about some of my drunken ramblings. I tried one for the taste, but will save the other 3 for a good night out lol.
Very awesome package Bob. Thanks for everything!
