Quick ABT's

I've got a monster brisket on the smoker so of course I decided we needed some snacks to munch on while we wait.

I whipped up a quick batch of ABT's


Maple Chicken Sausage
Cream Cheese
Cheddar Cheese
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder

As you can see I'm a "Boat" guy

Smoking for 1/2 an hour then going to drop in a 375 oven for an hour or so.

that might be a little long for the oven. I do ABT's alot in my Gas Grill. usually I use 325ยบ for 45 to 50 minutes. They are done pretty good at that point. Still, maybe you have done them this way before....so enjoy PDT_Armataz_01_34.gif

I agree... I usually smoke at 225* or so for ~90 minutes total.

Keep an eye on em... when the bacon looks done to your preferred crispness, it's time to get em out and chow down.

Minor "catastrophe" (I use that word loosely). I stepped away to help my neighbor with something for what I thought was going to be 5 minutes turned out to be 1/2 an hour.

Just out off the smoker.

The bacon got blackened, but they were still o so good!

Heck I think they came out all right. The bacon looks good and crispy and the filling is still in them so what if you get alittle messy when you eat them. I usually use a cheap thin bacon cause you will still get some flavor from the bacon because of the fat content and it will crisp up alot easier too.

The bacon was just a bit overdone. They tasted good but had to remove the bacon from most of them.

DROOL sure looks delish, I smoked yesteday and skipped the ABT's and sure missed them. Especially as i saw some nice plump japs at W. Mart and walked by them icon_sad.gif
