Thread Starter
Just wanted to say howdy from East Texas. Been using a gas grill for about 15 yrs. Before that I used an ole Cajun Cooker I believe it was called - an upright thing with a water pan. Wife just let me pick up a "Chargriller Duo" for a Christmas present. I hope she lets me use it before Christmas, lol. I hope it works out allright. I know it is not a serious/professional rig, but I hope it puts out some good smoked and bbq meats. I think I will like getting back into smoking meat, and can see myself getting a more serious dedicated smoker in the future. She wanted the convenience of using the gas end, and I liked the idea of either using charcoal or smoking. I'm just starting to look around this site, but am just getting started, and you guys have lots of info here. Looks like I've got lots of reading/learning to do. I hope to find some mods for the Chargriller Duo, that will help tweak it some.

Welcome to the SMF, and congrats on the new smoker. Don't be too concerned about getting a fancy rig, once you get some smokes under your belt, you make stick with what you've got. It's all good my friend.
