I'm looking for a simple, easy to regulate propane or electric smoker for a gift. I like the looks of the Camp Chef because of the lack of electronics. I'd like to be able to hang the big salamis vertically and still have the ability to do brisket, butts, turkeys, etc. I have a treager and love it except I'd like it to be vertical and know he would too. I can't look at anything in person in Nowhere, Montana so your input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks In Advance

I like the Smoke Vault and the Great Outdoors Smokey Mountain for verticals. I have a Royal Oak electric that I got cheap and it works fine, but I like the control of the gassers as well as the smoke ring (I know, it's cosmetic, but hey...). As for the Bradley, I like the simplicity of them but I don't like the price of the pucks or the 500w (I think) element. If I were to get another electric at all I think I would just retrofit my ECB with a $35 coil.

Now, I know there are many Bradley and MES users out there and I know you are having all the success in the world and what I said may seem inflammatory, but it is not meant to be in any way, shape or form. This is just my opinion on the matter.

Wow is that vault gold plated?

No, you don't buy the unit from Camp Chef. I got mine at Sportsman's Warehouse 2 years ago for $219.00. Last year, I bout one for my step-son's birthday for $259.00 and they are still at that price.

See above, I ain't one of them...

As for Bradley

Sportsman's Warehouse just had the 24" on sale for $299 Friday but I'm still going to go with the 18" (still at $210 with Browning's name printed on it) since I really don't need the larger unit.
