250 Gal Smoker Project

Getting ready to start a new 250 GAL project. A few months back figured out the trailer size and had all the tubing precut so I just had to weld it together and I worked on it this weekend. Shorten the axel, assembled the hubs and parked the wheel bearing. Picked up a 250 GAL propane tank the end of last week and one for the fire box too. Now I am ready to get started on it now. Has it is right now, going to make a double rack reverse smoker cooker. Learned a lot from my last project and I am sure it will help me on this one. Will post updates as I move forward.

Ready to mount tank

250 Gal Tank

Tank for fire box.

Going out of town the next two weekends but was able to get up this morning and mount my trailer jack.

First year I did not cook for Thanksgiving was invited over to our oldest son and they did all the cooking ,, it was "OUTSTANDING". Hope everyone had a Great Thanksgiving too.

Will be mounting the tank soon (3 weeks away) and I will post as I work on it.

Mounted the Fire Box to the Smoker

I was able to get a little work done on the smoker yesterday. Got the chamber between the fire box and smoker built. Mounted the fire box to the smoker.

Ready to cut out the chamber doors, place smoke stack and two racks (lower and upper). Planning on two doors with one over lapping the other to allow a me to place and smoke a whole pig.

Back working on it again.

Getting a little more done and hopefully will get it ready for the sand blaster soon.

Got the main door cut, and door stop set.

A buddy of mine used a car hood spring to assist with opening the the door and I am going to add it to this one later I think.

Completed the plates for the reverse smoke, use 1” angle for the grease channel and will drain it to a 1” pipe so I can place a bucket under it during the smoking.

Set smokestacks on both the Smoker and Fire box/grill. Will weld the damper on both a little later.

Will complete the rack tracks hopefully this weekend and get this baby completed!
