Thanks for having me!

Thread Starter
I am a writer for the Examiner.com, the Sacramento Outdoor Cooking Writer (or as they call us, Examiners). I've been a serious BBQ/Smoke guy for about 20 years now, and learn more every day.

I use an offset for BBQ, a Cookshack for smoking, and a Performer for grilling.

My "real" job is a shopping center owner and developer, which was recently voted as the Worst Job Imaginable in a random poll. icon_cool.gif Not really, but I have plenty of struggling restaurants, have done some catering myself, and I love the enterprise side of the cooking business as much as the pleasure of cooking for family and friends.

I'll post some articles on occasion; most will be tutorials aimed at the neophyte. I'm pretty sure most people here are not in that class, but if it helps some, I hope that's all right with you.

Thanks again, and if anyone has a suggestion for a feature article, please look me up. It can even be you!

First off welcome John to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anything to do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.
Here's a link to photobucket it's free and easy to download pictures. Then if your really new to smoking Look up the E-course.
It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.

Welcome John,

I too would welcome reading your articles. It is great to another person here. With each new addition to the family, just give us another person with ideas that have not been shared with others yet.
