Enjoying the Smoke!

Thread Starter
My name is Mike and I live with my wife and "boy" dog Duke in a small Va town. I got a brinkmann smoke n grill for my birthday in june and love it! Ive done ribs, pork loins, chicken, brats, and a fattie, with the ribs being my favorite.

Im not satisfied with the brinkmann, its too hard to keep the temp rite. I have a 100lb propane tank that i want to use to build a smoker. I have been searching and cant find the info that i need, firebox dimensions, where to mount the box, side or beneath, ect. If someone could point me to this info I would greatly appreciate it.

My smoking partner Duke. Do not sit a beer down where he can get it!

First off welcome Mike and duke to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anything to do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.
Here's a link to photobucket it's free and easy to download pictures. Then if your really new to smoking Look up the E-course.
It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.

Hi ya Mike, welcome! I had to respond because you said Duke loves beer. Wow. A ton of emotions. My dog (cooking partner) also loved beer. She preferred domestic over import. lol I couldn't cook without either a beer or her. Had to put her down almost a year to the day. Thanks for the fond memories.
