Black Beans and Rice/Thighs with Fresh Mustard Greens

These are Turtle Beans(black) that i grow...





Cooked some rice, celery,fresh scallions and added some of my dehydrated fresh ground powders and toasted ground cumin.The pepper is a fresh mirasol that was added to rice as well.








One of my favorite dishes,especialy leftovers/lunches






Some marinated thighs over lump with a touch of olive wood










Some of my fall/winter mustard greens and kale.






Kale






I love mustard greens.






Washed and sauteed with bacon fat











Ready for dinner with bacon bits and a little red wine vineagar added





Dinner.Will be eating the kale and mustard greens all winter.

Alex, if it is possible, you have outdone yourself with this meal; or maybe just touched on my favorites....I don't know or care, it's just all good!

Your black beans and rice should be featured in a magazine....beautiful pics of everything and nice slices of celery too. Course, your home grown and made peppers and spices make it even better.

Plus, your greens and smoked chicken make a down home Southern feast that needs to be shared with everyone~ some serious eatin'!

Definitively well-earned points for you!

for sure. They are more than deserved with all you bring to the dish and our own recipes book we all have here. You and jeanie are a great impreration to us all. I was just thinking I haven't seen why you grow your cows and pigs. Ok so now it won't let me give you anymore points.
 
I cannot wait to get to the country and raise Beef,pigs,chickens.It would be like completing the circle.My grandfather was a butcher,farmer,grocery store owner,everything man.I learned from mom.

Till then i will be extremely jealous of miss jeanie and all those who do it 100% and the right way

Awesome post. I love beans and rice...and Mustard greens are my favorite. Wilted in some bacon grease with some bacon bits thrown in for good measure, that is a fantastic meal. It looks amazing as ususal.

Until recently (with the exception of zuppa toscana) I never even used kale as anything more than a garnish but have found that it is a great addition but don't generally find many good recipes for its usage.
Great looking meal, not just the greens but that rice looks like something out of a magazine, another fine meal Alex
