Hi guys, I am new here. I have always been a fan of outdoor cooking, grilling, smoking, etc. I really enjoy it. Never been extremely great at it, but want to get better. My intrest has been peaked regarding the clay pot smoker seen on the Alton Brown video, so I want to give this a try. I also have a Char Broil grill that I need to get the side fire box for and start smoking with it. Anyway, hello guys!!! I plan to study up and hope to learn a lot here.

Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here.

Welcome to the SMF Family! If you're new to this gig, check out the free 5-day ecourse offered through the site. It will give you a basic jump start into this beloved hobby and greatly supplement the stuff that's on the site.

Good luck, and hope to see pics of your 1st smoke, soon!

Welcome Ashman, you found the right place to answer all your smoking questions. I too have wanted to make a clay pot smoker, aka, the poor mans Big Green Egg. Have read many postive things about them. For sure get your firebox for your smoker though. Read thru the forum a bit, ask some questions, and you will be armed with the knowledge to turn out some great smokes. Can't wait to see your contributions to the forum.
