Hello everyone....My name is Ryan and im from Bardstown ky...aka the bourbon capital of the world...im a newb at smoking but im really interested in mastering the art of smoking. I work as an industrial maintenance tech at Zappos.com. Look to be a regular on here.

i am too....i just got my smoker yesterday....its a bbq grillware propane unit....i have a 7lb butt in it right now.....hope it turns out good.
 
Welcome to the site Ryan. Stick around and in no time you will be smoking like a maniac.
Good luck on the butt, make sure to post some Qview and if any questions always feel free to ask, there is always someone around willing to help.

When you uploading to Photobucket I always use the Large IMG setting, 640 x 480 it is a nice size...

First off welcome Ryan to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anythignto do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.

It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.

I created a 32x32 Desktop icon for SMF members if they want it. Just download it, UNzip it to anywhere (but remember where)... then if you have a current icon you are using just right-click/ 'properties'/change icon/ and go look for where you unzipped it and click it. Then name the icon what ever you want... obviously I named mine Smoking Meat Forums

If you don't have a desktop icon you can easily create one using this icon if you want.
It is transparent so your background should just show threw!!

(I hope someone didn't already do this before)

The BLUE is my desktop background, not part of the icon....

IS ME.....whoohooo....Welcome aboard Ryan.....with your internet experience you might be the next person to find a great ebay, craigslist, or backpage find.
 
i just bought my smoker on craigslist....80 bucks with a propane tank....Zappos is a great place to work....hell all of out meals are catered for free.....we get good bbq atleast 4 times a month
