So....the trailer fit into the shop. I blasted as much of the inside as I could before being blinded.  Blasting in a tube is not what I call 'fun'. it is ready.

the smokestack is cut welded and in place. It will need some structural assistance because it is 1/2" wall 6" pipe (no complaints it was free). It took both of my boys to hold it up while I tacked it in place. It is almost 90* to the ground. Oops.

Here is a not so dramatic photo in the morning...

Tonight I am going to fire it up and see how the temps hold while I build the cooking grates. Due to cost there will only be three made for this event...

Wow put fire in something and you will find the leaks.

I think that lump is going to be a fire starter only as it doesn't seem to last very long in the giant cavern.

Got some nice thin blue smoke.

Temp stayed right at 239 which i like,  but spits and 1/4s may work better for heat. Not sure

I modified the door latch on the firebox, again...I think this one is the keeper.

I found 1/4's and more of them = higher temps-----Splits and fewer of them = more even, lower temps, for a longer time.

so sink or swim....first smoke was 32 pork cushions, 4 pork shoulders, 3 racks of ribs, and a 4" hotel pan of pork and beans.

I only got three shelves made and ran out of shielding gas before the cooking started.  Still more to finish but it worked.

Rick, morning........Great job........success.......Thanks for sharing your project, it was an ordeal that turned out perfect.    Dave

The end product was fantastic.  The pork just fell apart.  It had a great smoke ring and great flavor.  Now to make adjustments like ash drop and finish shelves...replace the tongue jack stand that fell apart.

Still a work in progress.  I want to play and have it ready for then next years festival season and hit it hard.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wow, the evenness of the temps from end to end is great! And of course the real test is the product which looks as good as it gets! Congrats and have fun fine tuning it.

Great build Mo,

It's all coming together

Not bad for only having half her shelves...
Nice. Pretty even temps for such a large beast.
Had to make a few adjustments with the trailer tongue but it seemed to level out pretty well.

Great job Mo,Very nice
