Hey everyone, first of all thanks for allowing me to be a part of this group! I am pretty new to smoking so bear with me if I ask some dumb questions. I received a Brinkmann Smoke and Grill for FAther's Day. This is a kettle or bullet type smoker. Fairly simple and basic, verry low end. Since then I have smoked about 12 Pork loins, pork ribs, ribeye steaks, and 1 chicken breast. Got a lot to learn and try. Hopefully will be as good as you all someday. See ya later

First off welcome Jennega to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anythignto do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.

It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.

Like Ron said, thats already a bunch of food. It was not long ago I started and watch out, this hobby sure is addicting.. and fun.

And there are no "Dumb" questions. Everyone is pretty easy going, even if its in a forum somewhere and you dont have the time to reasearch it just ask.

And everyone really gets a kick out of looking at pictures. A little hard for me to comprehend at first, but you'll catch on.

Welcome The SMF and the to the insanity. It grows on you like a itch in the middle of your back. You never seem to be able to scratch it completely. Just when you start to taper off a bit you turn out some Q that knocks your socks off and You start all over again.

Don't worry about your first smoker, we have to start somewhere, I started with a Brinkman all in one and miss it(I knew how it would react). I have upgraded to a new vertical and am learning again. There is tons of information on these sites and with all that good Iowa Corn Fed Beef and pork, you are already ahead of the game.
