UDS 1.0a Gets a Spinner

Ever since I did the Weber lid mod to the UDS, I've been looking for the rotisserie kit. Well, I finally found one.PDT_Armataz_01_34.gif

A guy north of me had an EZ-Que with the 6" cradle for sale. Normally sells for $179. He sold it to me for $110.

The ring, cradle, and spit are all stainless steel.

Plus the motor mount and drive connection are standard so I can use my regular spit rod and forks for bigger things that won't fit in the cradle like turkey. I also have a flat basket that goes on the spit rod for flat things.

Gonna give it a try tomorrow with a tri-tip. My brother-in-law has been telling me how good prime rib is on the rotisserie. May have to try that at one point. Will do a turkey in a week or two.

The cradle is big enough to hold a couple of butts. Don't know if there is any compelling reason to rotiss them. Don't know that there is a compelling reason not to though either.icon_confused.gif Then my answer to the fat cap up or down question can be . . . yes.biggrin.gif

Good going. I wanted one for my Weber kettle, but the EZ Q's were on back order, and I didn't want to wait. I have the Weber Rotis. Haven't done a tri tip. Birds come out so good I have no reason to brine, or waste beer any longer.

Sweet set up DDave!

I could see using it on a higher temp cook, that's for sure. Nice work Dave.
