I just wanted to say thanks for all the great info on this site. I just started smoking this spring and have done a bunch of ribs, butts, fatties and abt's. But yesterday was my first time cooking for a big group and it went very well. We were having a all day tailgate for the Iowa State football season opener, so on the 2nd I smoked a couple of 7lb butts using what I learned on here, and reheated them yesterday in foil pans on the grill. I got a whole lot of compliments and they vanished pretty quick, so I think everyone was pleased with the results! Thanks again guys/gals!

Also I have a gosm, smoked them at 225-240 over a mix of apple and hickory.

Congrats on the first big smoke. I hope your team won and it sounds like you did. We here didn't smoke the meat you did so you get all the praise. we just told you how to and how we do smoke things. One thing I forgot to ask Wheres the Qview. You no if theres no Q theres no BBQ did it happen or what?

I'm with you Johnny, the members of this site have helped me go from putting out alright Q to incredible BBQ'd goodness.
We all have to learn somewhere and somehow, just be sure to pass along all the great info you have gathered onto those that are now less experienced that you that have the desire to learn this fine art that we love to practice.

Good job, Johnny, and congratulations are in order for you. Whenever one see's their prepared food disappear, then one know's "they done good!"

You're gonna find your skills growing faster than you realize as long as you pay attention to what the common wisdom is around here. It's a great site and chock full of helpful folks.
