Hi again,
I never did the roll call, was concerned about my MES but have since recieved a replacement box. The door, pan, racks, eletronic control, drip pans, etc. came off the old one. It is sitting next to my newer one.
We live in Ponca City OK since 2008. From Iowa originally. We had a cabin on 40 acres I built with pot belly and a wood cookstove, where i basically learned cast iron cooking. Today we have a Char Broil pofessional propane and the MES. I still have some cast iron, but only use them on the grill.
I wanted to download some q-view but the files are too big. They are as small as my camera goes. Still, did some wings, dogs, poppers, beans & corn yesterday. I love this post.
Since I couldn't add photos I wanted to mention when we were at "the farm" as we called it, I first prepared an indirect butt on a really old charcoal grill I had inherited from Pop, my father-in-law. The butt was indirect for about four hous, and turned out "tolerable." (little dry)

First off welcome to SMF. You already know how good the place is so I'm glad you came out of the darkness and saw the light. We are always glad to have new people here cause they might just look at things and little differant then we do and that always make for some really differant way to do things. I hope you have the how to's and what if's on the whole Qview thing and if not go here:
and it will show you how to post pictires so we can see what your smoking on and with and what your smoking. So hurry and go get something to smoke.

Hope you like the Sooner State,it was a good neighbor(Texas). Did you bring the wood stove with you? Sounds like you had a nice place back there; do you miss it? Think I would, all that land(I rent from my FIL and 40a.cres is a lot to me now.

Welcome to SMF. If you liked that butt you did that was "tolerable" you will absolutely love one done in your MES. It will be moist tender and flavourful. You are in for a treat.

Carerful Chainsaw.....if all you have had is a tilerable butt...then there is still time to avoid the addiction...ahh heck...who am I trying to kid....we will haunt you in your sleep if we have too....icon_smile.gif

Qview from Sunday, I changed the picture size. Dogs, wings, corn, beans, poppers stuffed with cream cheese, hot pepper, cheddar and crab meat.
