Well the rain went away quick but that wasn't my only problem, well i just ate a few of the ribs and they are ok nothing great and the brisket is in cooler wrapped in towels hopefully it will be ok?
Anyway i did the grill grate mod to raise the coals up and give them air and i am not sure about that yet, any it was going good then my coals ran out about 2 and a half hours into it so at that time i wrapped everything in foil and added more coals and well playing madden 09 on xbox didn't help lol the temp got way too high so it was more like grilling at that point, temp probe in brisket went off so i removed and put it in cooler and grilled the ribs real quick and sauced em up. Not sure i like mod because usually i add lump charcoal and keep temp good but with the grate the lump coals will fall through the grate so i think i will get rid of the grate
Sorry you had so much trouble with your smoke today. Don't lose heart, and learn from each event and you will be the better chef for it.
As for your pics....they look just fine on my screen and aligned the right way. Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing of better times around the smoker.
it wasn't a bad smoke, just not the best one. ooh yea i threw a head of cabbage in the crock pot with the fat trimmings, chicken stock and the seasoning packet from the brisket mmm, i need to try one smoked but how can you beat the crockpot cabbage? mmm this cabbage tastes good!! still have the brisket to slice up with my 22 dollar harbor freight slicer tomorrow lol http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=42787
