Just wanted to introduce myself to all my fellow smokers out there.
My name is Ryan and I am currently in the process of building a smoker for the firestation that I work at here in Las Vegas. I am completely new to the building thing and to the smoking thing so hopefully it comes out well.
My station has about 22 guys that love BBQ and me being from Texas love smoked meat so I decided to build a smoker. I am going to try to get some pictures of the smoker in progress and ask a few questions along the way. Will keep everyone posted......

Welcome Ryan.
Would love to see pics of the smoker in progress, and once it's finished I'm sure you will be the hero of the station.

Thanks for the welcome.
the smoker I am building is from a 150 gallon propane tank. It was about 7ft long so I cut it down to about 5ft and it has a 2ft diameter. Cut the tank open with the tools of the fire trade, a k12 saw which is like a handheld chop saw on steroids. I am going to stand the tank on end and use a 15 gallon propane tank as my fire/smoke box. I got a big smoke stack from our mechanic shop. It is comming along suprisingly well in my book. I work tomorrow so I will get pics up on Monday when I get off work. Any pointers on getting that awesome smoke cure on my tank would also be appreciated.
