Hello all, my name is Ben and i just got in to this whole smokin' thing. never knew it could be so much fun. I've always been an attention seeker, well now when i'm lonely all i have to do is fire up that smoker. I built mine out of concrete and steel. It's 7 feet tall, 5 feet wide and 4 feet deep. I have 24 square feet of cooking surface. it's pretty nice for my first smoker, just not portable. I have pics from when i was building it. The finished product is stuck in my camera. I'll get it on here soon. I could use any tips on smoking in this type of smoker. I have hads three smoke outs so far. the first one was horrible. the second was pretty good. and the last one was great. i cooked forty pounds of brisket, pork butt and ribs. The neighbors love me. Oh yeah it also has 6 square feet of grillin' space for those great t-bones i love so much. Talk to you later.

Glad to have you aboard Ben. Very interesting looking smoker you made there. You're sure right about it not being portable. looks like a great rig to do a whole pig in.

That is a smoker and a half! I would love to see the finished product in action! Welcome!
