So this is My first post. Hello ya'll!
I have been trolling the forums. reading some great Ideas and Looking at some awesome builds. You all inspired me to Fix mine

I bought this smoker off craigslist with the intentions to just fix the holes. I did this but have a hard time keeping the temps stable. I have been reading the build of BBQ Engineer and Love the ideas he has and the others in that thread.

This got me thinking about my smoker and why its not working right.
So here it is with the side cut off. (Blurry I know sorry)

So I cut the exhaust off and Im going to seal this with some 3/8 diamond plate I have.
Here is a pic all cut and grinding started.

I want to add a square box with a door for smoking ribs and more meat over the fire box. Should I sit that box right on top of the fire box or leave a space and just connect the corners . What is the right way to do this?
