I'm glad I found this site. I have been smoking for a few years now and have learned a lot. I cook for family, friends, partys and dinners at Church and everyone enjoys what I prepare but I feel I can always learn more. I found some ideas that I am going to try this weekend. I currently have a New Braunfels? sorry for the spelling, that I inherited from my son-in-law when he passed away and it has been used regularly. I live in Jacksonville, Florida so I can use it year round, much to everyones delight. Hope yall don't mind if I ask questions as I get more into this site.

Welcome to SMF. Glad you joined us. Feel free to ask away.

mdryan, the addage "The only dunb question is the one that doesn't get asked" applies here. Not matter how lame you think a question might, chances are that it has been asked and answered many times.

I've been with SMF for a long time and have seen and learned stuff that I never thought of-just got to keep an open mind and not get caught up with the notion that there is only one way to do something.

Enjoy!

My son-in-law got me started smoking and I have learned a lot on my own and by listening to friends. Now, I find this site and I am looking forward to even better results, although that is hard to imagine. I have smoked several briskets, tons of ribs, chickens and turkeys and never have leftovers. Still, I want to expand and try new things, just learned about fatties yesterday and can hardly wait for the weekend to try a couple. This site reminds me of the Church I attend, everyone makes you feel important and cared for. Hope I can help in that area and share what little knowledge I have gained.
