We got back from the lake yesterday evening and my wife needed something from the store so I ran up to H.E.B. as it was the closest and just happen to browse through the meat section and low and behold what did I find.

Whole pork loins on sale for $1 / pound.....I thought I was seeing things so I grabbed one and made a checker scan it and sure enough $1 / pound so I went back and bought 5 more....

They averaged around 8#.

I think I am gonna cut it up into 2 separate pieces since an 8 pounder is too much for my family.

I wonder how I'm gonna cook em this time....any suggestions?

Holy Cow! (or Pig) There's room in the freezer, so off to H.E.B. I go! This sale doesn't show up in their weekly ad - was it in your store only?

As far as cooking them, there's really no end to the variety of the uses of these things.

One of my favorites is to lop of the large end for a roast, section the middle into thick boneless rib chops, and cut the small end into strips about 3/4" in diameter. they make great 'pork fingers' to be marinated and grilled on skewers. I'll post up my 'pork fingers' next time I do them.

You can also slice the large end into 1" thick chops, slice a nice pocket in them and stuff them prior to grilling. Pork loins make me salivate!

That is a great price for loin. Those stuffed versions that WuTang put up look awesome. I'd for sure try one of those.

That's a great price! Sam's Club here has them for $1.88 per pound. I like a dollar better.

yeah it should be fun....the look on my wifes face when I walked in the house was......holy crap.....more BBQ

Should be fun gonna try several different things and see what I like the best

Nice price on those loins. Like dude said try one of wutang stuffed ones. Or just smoke one those ones looked really good too.

I have *SO* seen that look on my wife's face before!

She just called from HEB - they were just opening cases from a meat shipment. Unfortunately, the guy checked and they are $2.99/lb. Not for this dude. If they were a buck I would have just had him toss a case in her cart!
