Ok, I've been wanting to try this for a while... and I picked up a used brinkmen a while back but havn't used it yet. So I decided to try both today. the temp gague on it has no numbers but says, warm-ideal-hot. I have it just into the on the low end of ideal. Great thin smoke coming out. Everything looks like it should turn out great.

good luck with your smoke-u can't go by that temp guage, they never work.you need to get yourself a couple probes-1 for smoker temp and 1 for the meat, hang out in here and you will learn ALOT-welcome to SMF.

Be careful with the themo on the unit. They are usually not very reliable! You will want to make sure that you get the turkey to the right temp.

I added 2 digital gages. 1 in the bird at 138 now after 4 1/2 hours and the other at 199. Great smoke now. I added some ABT's too.
