Well tonight I rubbed a dozen butts and in the morning the smoking will start. then tomorrow night the chucks will get their rub and wednesday they will get the smoke. So on Friday night I hope to have all done in roasters for the party. Here is the butts before and after getting a naked rub... I know how everybody likes pics so I willl try to keep them coming as things go.

Woah...that's alot a butt!

Keep us posted. Sounds like a good plan of attack. I'm thinking of doing a similar plan for this weekend myself (grads party, too)...only, less butt. LOL!

Now THAT is what I call a party!
This ought to be a good one to keep an eye on, hope you are able to keep us fully updated but with that much smoke and everything else going on it is so easy to miss a few here and there.
Good luck with the party and hope you have a great time.

Whew!, Now thats a Q. Sounds like everything is planned out great. Just make sure you have enough beer to last through the smoke, state MINIMUM is 2 beers per butt. lol

Man your stations!

Wow..what a challenge~what a strategy. Good plan! Hope it all works out for you and don't forget the icy beer for the cook. PDT_Armataz_01_22.gif

Now thats a tall order. Good luck. I can't wait to see your rig with all those butts in there

Sounds like you know what you're doing. Just remember, a full smoker requires a longer cook time (I was sweating bullets last Saturday at a local comp. while waiting for my butt to get through that plateau).

The butts are cooking away, didn't fit quite as many in for this round as I hoped for only got 8 in the 2 smokers. Going pretty good with things, been going for about 9 hours now. So tonight the 21 chucks get rubbed and tied together since they aren't real thick, for smoking tomorrow. Then hopefully I can get all the stragglers done on Thursday that wouldn't fit. Here is a couple more pics.... More to follow!

My guess is 10-12 lbs of leftover pulled pork and 3-4 lbs of leftover chuck.

Nonetheless, you have put a dent in the animal population with this event.

Are you leaving them whole and pulling them the day of the event or pulling them when they are done? How are you reheating?

Thanks everybody for all the nice comments and encouragement! Things are going pretty well so far. I have half of the butts all done, 2 doing the FTC and 2 more in the Bradley going thru the night. I got the chucks tied in bundles of 3 and all rubbed and wrapped in plastic wrap in the fridge waiting for tomorrow to get smoked. Here is the pic of the first half of the butts all pulled.

All this and he also made "home brew" for the party. Could we get some pics of the home brew next to the smoked meat? I just want to see what I'll be eating and drinking Friday night:)
