I'll show the original work I did in creating this smoker since someone pm'd me and ask for some pics. Then I'll post the modifications.

This is one of the earliest pics that i still have on my computer, my computer crashed back during Christmas, I did have some build pics. But I started with that tank. Cut into the tank, cut two doors out before I mounted the tank to a 10 ft camper trailer. The pipes on the front were cut to make my stack.

Back side of the smoker, painted.

View from the right side.

Cooking side or the left side.

The firebox, with the lights. I had to move the lights as you'll see in later pics, because they were melting.

The modified unit

Added a new/larger cooking rack. I did have two individual racks, that worked fine, but I wanted one solid rack that could be easily removed for cleaning...this one works just fine.

Made it where the entire tank would be open...took the little divider between the two doors out, and so i could get the new rack in and out.

Another Rack picture.

And another....

And another.....

And another....you can really see the whole rack better this way.

Took the lights off the back....put down some diamond plate were their was wood flooring

New warmer that I added. It works ok.....keeps it in the 100 degree range, gonna have to figure out how to get it hotter some how. Thinking about adding another one on the other end.

Inside of the warmer, without the racks....don't think i had them done when I took this picture.

Fire box. With the new side door. Had to take out the top loading door because of the warmer....this is much easier to clean out.

One of my friends got a little crazy with some chalk. Thats way I get for buying them beer for helping me. You can also see a door stop i added out of square tubing and flat metal.

You can now see the places where I moved the lights. I actually melted two of them when I was smoking. So I just reduced them to two lights.

I has a 30 foot camper trailer now, that I'm thinking about moving this smoker to. And if I can find another tank for free (like this one) or for less than $100, then I'm gonna put duel smokers on that trailer. I think i'm gonna cut the other trailer down 10 or 12 ft. Probably even add a sink to it. Anyway, will definitely post pictures when that happens...may be the fall though. I need to buy some torches and a welder....tired of using my friends all the time.

One thing I will say guys.....if you use a propane tank, like I did. Make sure the tank isn't pressurized. Take the valves off if it has any....Make sure their isn't any gas left in the tank....These precautions will definitely make things safer.

Now we just need to see that loaded with butts and ribs! Good looking smoker.

Their are a couple of holes in the bottom of the box to let heat thru, its not the greatest design, it needs some work... I'm gonna try something different, I'll let you know if it works.

.. we just made some mods to my unit a few weeks ago to get more heat into my second chamber.
I was able to get mine up to 150 degrees previously...but I wanted to cook on that side, not just use it for a warmer.
..so we made our little mod and now I can get the temp up basically as high as I want.
Cooked ribs on that side last weekend....very nice to be able to finally cook in both smoke chambers.

Nice build, I am building a fridge smoker and cant find the side adjustable
dampers you used on your firebox anywhere. Any suggestions?
