I have never smoked any kind of meat, but I love to grill. I'm looking at buying my first smoker, and since its my first, I'm not gonna go big. I have been debating on charcoal, electric, or propane. I think that I will get the best flavor with charcoal and I have found one at Home Depot I think I will get...

As for me, my name is John and I'm 28. I've from Livingston Tennessee. I never tried cooking till I got married(not knocking my wife because she cooks great and encouraged me to try different things) I love cooking now and will try to cook anything. Oh yeah, I make a mean spaghetti too. Thanx for all the help you guys will give me in advance!!!!...lol

Welcome aboard.

Brinkmans are okay. You will need to do some modifications though. Check out this link, then head over to the Charcoal smoker forum to ask questions.

Welcome to the forums, John! The rig you are considering is affectionately known as the ECB (el cheapo brinkman), and many members here use it or a similar bullet smoker. You can get lots of good advice on its use and mods to make by checkin' out the charcoal smoker section. Or just ask, and folks will be glad to help. Might I also suggest you sign up for Jeff's 5 day e-course. Its got lots of good info for Newbies.
