as i strolled through wal mart last week i glanced at 3 tom turkeys (jennie-o) in the freezor. and low and behold they were marked down from $.88 lb to $.50 a lb.

there were three. i took advantage of 2 of them. origional price was $ 16 and change to $9 and change. they were 19+ lbs.

so i am saving one for thanksgiving lmao. ya right. anyways heres one i cooked this weekend. rubbed it down with some paprikia garlic and salt pepper and basil. tossed it on the uds with 9 lbs of coals and headded off to our deer and turkey classic expo. turned out good. ate on it all week.

Nice bird, BGC! Leftovers (if any) make a great turkey noodle soup.

I plan on doing one about this size for a camping group next month. Can you give me some info on overall cook time and temp while smoking?

Congrats on the bid bird my friend, smoke away.
