Greetings from Snow Country - Boston, NY

I was introduced to this forum by Shelly of Desperado's BBQ and Catering in Angola, NY. Thanks, Shelly! Not sure of your handle.... If you read this: Thanks for the great meal on Friday Night. We're planning another trip out this Saturday with some friends!

My Wife, Angela, and I have been BBQing and competing since 2004. We prefer KCBS Sanctioning and Rule, but will be branching out this year to try some new formats.

Our 9 month old daughter, Allyson, has attended 5 contests in her first 5 months with us.

This year I have volunteered with the Patchin Fire Company to be the Contest Chairman for the Boston Hills BBQ Fest to be held in Boston, NY on June 26th, 27th (KCBS), and 28th (Grilling). www.bostonhillsbbqfest.com

We'll be at these contests for sure:
May - Roc City Ribfest, Rochester, NY
June - Boston Hills BBQ Fest (Working, not competing)
July - Canadian Open - Barrie, ONT
July - Harpoon NE BBQ Championships, Windsor, VT
August - New Holland Summerfest - New Holland, PA (If we get in)
Sept - Oinktoberfest, Clarence, NY
Oct - Diamond State, Dover, DE
Oct - Battle of the BBQ Brethren, Sayville, NY

I really enjoy the process of smoking and cooking with a live fire.

I am addicted to Weber Kettle Grills.

I am always in the mood to consider adding another smoker to the lineup.

I am also a member of the BBQ Brethren, BBQ Central, and post with the same name and signature.

Looking forward to learning and sharing with you all.

Truly,
Mike

Welcome Mike. Wow, sounds like you're a busy guy. Feel free to jump in and post away, look through the threads and enjoy the site.

Welcome to the forum. From your list looks like I'll see you in Windsor, New Holland (maybe), Clarence and Sayville. Are you doing Troy or Lake Placid? Lake Placid is probably the next best thing to Harpoon.

Hello Mike, glad you're part of the SMF. Looking forward to your next smake and Q too.

Thanks for the warm welcome, all!

1894 - yup we've got snow, but its quickly melting with the temps above freezing.

YankeeRob - we've met! I was the table captain for the on-site judging at the 2008 Battle of the BBQ Brethren. We're not doing LP this year, but with any luck, we'll get accepted to Harpoon. Certainly our paths will cross this year.

Cowgirl -really enjoy your blog site.
