Ive been thinking about it and pondering,,,, this thing has two wood boxes that go over the elements, they are about a foot long, 8 inches wide, and 3 inches deep, there on each side. I am going to throw some lump in there in a little while and see what kind of temps I can get it up to like that. There might not be enough air flow from the two stacks on top, but if it even gets close I am gonna install vents in the sides at the bottom for draft.

what do you think?

As for as bieng insulated , the walls on it are 1 1/2 inches thick, and there is a good seal on the door, and it is about an inch thick.

I would either wire my garage for it or I would look into converting it over to run on 115v household power..... I have a much smaller cookshack smoker and I am guessing that big boy is insulated and sealed up as good or better then my little one.... Mine makes some great grub that is very moist.... and the moistness is because of their design with little air movement................ You could just change the elements to 115volt elements and make a control unit for it........ They are nice because they don't use alot of wood chips..................But hey any way you go it is a sweet deal..............keep us posted...............

Have you thought about an gas element from an oven? Make a bracket to hold the chip box over the burner. Might want to put in a small door to fill the chip box so you don't have to open the big doors.

Food for thought
