How are the Red Wings going to do this year?

It is about that time of year again.

I just bought 4 tickets to catch them when they come to town and to see Barry Melrose up close. biggrin.gif ........could have done another comp for what the freaking tickets cost. icon_evil.gif

I need the official forcast for the game as well as the season.

I KNOW on the prices- I have a feeling tix will be available here at the Joe this season with the economy and crap here. Cause I can't afford but maybe a game or two in the nosebleeds. When are they coming? I guess I'm not sure which team you mean down there...heh.

I think they will do well this year, Unlike "Clement Clement Hands of Cement." Heh.

To me the question mark is goaltending. Can Ozzy handle the #1 spot. I think he can. They are embarrassingly deep in both offense and defense, and have a great coach and mix of youth and experience.

And worse comes to worst--they could just toss Z-berg/Hossa centered by Datsyuk out and the other team would forfeit LOL!

The only other intangible is the touted "Cup Hangover" but I think these guys have enough drive and smarts to not fall into that trap.

I'm with Vegas... Wings again in '09. Or VERY close to it. <Superstitious disclaimer biggrin.gif >

Yeah, on paper they look impossible to beat.

Down here would be Tampa. Wings did not come down here the last couple of years and as a result I only went to one game (I think PDT_Armataz_01_05.gif ) since the Lightning won the cup.

Ozzy truely is a question mark but he has 2 young ones breathing down his neck should he falter. That might give him the motivation he needs to be "the man". Toronto at home 10/9 to start the season! Can't get any better than that.

We really do owe a "thanx" to the Dallas Stars. Last seasons playoffs had the Stars win 2 very tough series agaist the Ducks and Sharks. Both of those teams have been tough on the Wings in past playoffs and the Stars were pretty much spent afterwards. Stars were down 2-0 to the Wings before they new what happened. Then it was just a matter of swatting Sid the Kid a few times.
