Just ordered a case of pork shoulder roast. Well I know thats boston butt but I dont know if it is bone in or not. At $1.10 /pound I couldnt pass it up. Local grocer has em at $2.69. The case is 6 butts at 5-6 pounds each. Looks like pork next weekend. Dang I wanted brisket.

That's a pretty good price. I picked up 4 8lbers a few weeks ago @ .99/lb. I need to get one out of the freezer. Just took my last package of cooked pp out a few hrs ago.

sounds like a good deal to me. I just a half hour ago talked with my guy he said 1.50 for boneless and 1.35 for bone in @ aprox 50#'s per case. I was checking on beef clod prices which went up to 2.30 a pound.

Sounds like a good price last case I got I think was 1.29 a lb then the next week a different place had them on sale for .99 a lb but haven't seen them on sale here for awhile now

I just loaded up my GOSM with 7 butts that I got at Sam's yesterday. So hard to NOT find cryovac'd butts around here. I'm looking to find a local butcher here in Atlanta (Marietta area especially) that doesn't use a damn saline solution on these. I did end up buying a case of 8 bone in butts at Sam's for $1.21 a pound ($79 for 65#) so that's not that bad. Seems the cheapest I've seen was $1.87, and that was at Sam's also.
I did luck out at get 2 butts at Kroger a few months ago for .69/lb. I feel dumb for not getting the other cryovac too.... :)

I should post pics of the smoker... that sucker is slam packed right now.....

Definitely post pics ... we love qvue ..

I'll try before I take them off.... I could definitely slam 9 in the GOSM, but it would be tight, and without good airflow between them, you wouldn't get a great smoke ring on the sides where they would touch.

They've been in there for almost 10 hours right now, and although the temp hasn't gotten over 220 (right at 200 most of the time) they have plateaued at 160 for a while..... About time to foil them, and put them in the oven at 210 timed for a few hours while I get some sleep for a bit.
