Got up early to get the butt started. Here are a couple pics of the butt about to go on the smoker. I will update with more picks as we go. Also got a breakfast fattie, some abts and some Italian sausage going on later.
Just added the breakfast fattie, JD breakfast sausage stuffed with spinach and cream cheese. Had to do the bacon weave since that what all the cool kids are doing these days.
Sigh.. I have yet to try a weave. Well with bacon anyway. Have had good luck with bourbon and walking tho. Sounds like a nice breakfast tho...Mmm would love me some breakfast!
Time to put on a mountain of abts. Tossed a few links of Ital. sausage too. My sister in law is making roasted peppers to top the sausage with. The butt is at 193F-getting close!
Sorry I am late getting the final pics posted. I guess that whole 4am thing caught up to me and I went to bed as soon as we got home. Got a pic of the bone after it slid right out. A pic the butt as we pulled it. Did about half of the pulled pork with the finishing sauce-WOW. I was a little worried it would over power the meat but it just added a little "twang" and definately some moisture. VERY GOOD. The last pic is just before we started digging in-some of the sausage is what I smoked, some is what my brother in law grilled at his house.
I tried them once-and now have made some everytime the smoker has been going since. Put em on half way through the smoke and snack on em while you are tending the fire.
