First butt, plus a fattie, ribs and abts-q view

Trying my first butt today-started it at about dark-thirty this morning. Threw on a breakfast fattie to eat this morning. When the fattie came off I threw some ribs on for lunch. Abts will go on later for an afternoon snack. Here are some pics-I will update with more pics as I go.

Jimmy Deans regular breakfast sausage, the filling is just mushrooms, onions, green peppers and garlic and some mozzerella cheese. We put a couple fattie slices on the plate and then topped them with a couple of sunny side up eggs. Very good breakfast.

Some more pics

Putting the abts on. Made "his and hers" My wife likes plain cream cheese. The others have cheddar cheese and chunks of grilled chicked leftover from the last time I fired up the grill. Also a pic of them all wrapped up-each in an entire piece of bacon. Then a pic of the ribs just out of the foil. The butt is wrapped and the abts are on. Thanks for looking-I am getting hungry.

Looks great!! Very nice job. That's what I call elevated smoking. biggrin.gif Looks like your helper is pretty wound up, might want to try to calm him down. smile.gif

Took the ribs off and added a pan of beans (a variation of Dutch's) Abts are starting to look pretty good and the butt is at 182F. Can't wait for dinner!

Ok...I'm still at work and getting darn sick of all the smokin going on without me!! Smokers gonna be working overtime tomorrow!

That is how I have felt the last couple weekends. I worked the last couple saturdays-looking at this forum thinking "my next Sat. off I am gonna smoke all day!!!"

Butt is in the cooler. Sat at 199F for almost 1/2 hour, then started dropping-at 196F I beefed up the fire a little. Just put it in the cooler-will post some pics in a little bit.

Some final pics

Some of the final pics. A pic of the friends that kept me company. A pic of the butt after it came out of the cooler (and my brother in laws approval). A pic of the bone that slid right out of the picnic. A pic of the meat pulled apart with a fork-no other tool needed! and a pic of my plate: pulled pork sammie with bbq sauce, beans, abts and some cole slaw. Yummy
