Hey everyone. Well I finally stopped lurking and registerd. I heard about this site from Abelman and Flash on the Florida Sportsman Forum. I live in Weston FL which is about 15 miles west of Ft Lauderdale.
I'm 42 and have loved cooking pretty much my whole life. Aside from the outdoor stuff, I mostly stick to seafood and Italian food, which is what I grew up on. I have been grilling for about 20 years but just recently bought a smoker. Prior to that, I would occasionally try to smoke things on my gas grill. My new smoker is a vertical electric model that at least has a thermostat.
So far I am just learning to smoke. I have had varying degrees of success with Carolina style pulled pork, kingfish, chicken legs, chicken quarters, potobello's and turkey legs. I have also managed to mess up smoked meat loaf, baked potatoes and eggplant.
I look forward to learning and contributing in the future.
