I am planning to do my first spare ribs smoke and will be using Jeff's rub recipe. Can I use rib racks when doing this or just lay the ribs on the rack.

Thanks,

Mike

I would think as long as you can fit them in the racks, while foiled...you should be okay. If they won't fit.....just lay them flat on the smoker grate while in foil mode

depending on which cooker i'm using as to how i do it,in big mamma jamma i foil and lay em on the grate,on the chargriller i put em in the racks cause i'm usuallt doing at least 3 racks so i need the room.

Whichever way you do them, keep in mind that 3-2-1 isn't an exact science and not for everyone. The only time I tried the full time, the ribs fell apart. Good eats, but not what I was after. I like mine soft but not too soft. You may want to experiment with the times. Also remember, we like Qview!
