I figured I would broaden my cooking knowledge and try smoking for a change of pace. I've fried about everything. I got a treager for fathers day and am very impressed with my results. did my first brisket for 10 hours and it was better than the commercial bbq joints in town. My next venture will be ribs.

Chris welcome to SMF glad you decided to join us. Congrats on the new smoker. I suggest you take Jeff's 5 day Ecourse it contains lots of great info and its free. You will also find some great info and recipes here as well. Have fun and happy smoking.

don't forget to try cooking a pizza on your traeger! i've had mine for about 3 years now. it out cooks alot of smokers. my son had a bbq joint and after selling it he also bougt a traeger. they almost cook by themselves. my only problem is try to get my steak the way i like them so i kept my webber just for grillling my steaks.taste the difference.happy smokin.

Welcome to the SMF. Sounds like you've been bitten by the Q bug!

Welcome Chris. I followed that same path. I love using my turkey fryer, especially for my Annual Superbowl party. Next February I will be kicking it up a notch (as someone semi famous said) with the addition of some smoked BBQ. Lots of great info here for those new to the art, also just a fun site to be a part of.
