i can honestly say that i havent found a good Q joint in saginaw....

but if u want some "alright" Q, take a trip to Flint....exit 122 off of I-75, head east on Pierson Rd...go down about 2 miles until u hit saginaw st. on the right hand side u will see a lang,a couple of other smokers in a yard.

the guy has been selling Q there for years. he has some awards for his Q @ the Genesee County Fair.

another place...

head west on Pierson Road until u hit Linden Rd (right after Meijers), turn left(south)

go about 2 miles, on the left u will see Jays BBQ

Bone Daddy's BBQ - has anyone been there?

I suppose I could have mentioned that the "Dad" is Billy Bones..........listed in Peace, Love, & BBQ as a "Living Legend"............not just a guy from the neighborhood............if that makes a difference.

Yeah really nice guy... and he liked our ribs! But then again, so did the judges for some reason confused.gif

He's got one of those faces that tell a story the instant ya see it. And always smiles... but if ya read his piece in P, L & BBQ...maybe that's why hehe!

I have ate there. I got there sampler plate that was to die for. Get 2 meats, and 2 sides with a drink for like $13. Was more then i could eat. His dad did a catering type class and gave away some nice freebies to boot. 2 rubs that he is currently going to market and they was awesome. I want to try his other rubs but am to dang cheap for shipping costs. So need to google his dads place and make the drive. then it again it will cost me more in gas but at least I can eat before i go home. Back to Bone Daddy's if ya walk around the back of the place you will see his rig out back. Smell will make ya wanna slap yourself. I had the beans for a side and I think i was still burping the smoke flavor a week later. Had the brisket and pulled pork and they threw a link of sausage on to boot with some corn bread and potato salad. Billy Bones is the his dads place and that is saginaw somewhere just not sure where. I am in Petosky right now so I can't pull my paper work and tell ya where. Yes I am at the Casino and yes I am playing on house money and going to slap them some more. Got enough put away to get another small smoker woooooooot.
