You know I'll be awaiting the Qview

Here's the Q-View of the finished products:

The Turkey Breast took nearly 6 hours, a little lighter color then I normally get usin hickory, but lillac will work I think.

Here are the Chix Legs, same new rub an lillac bush fer smokin wood.

All in all a very succesful smoke taday.

Just finished with supper, momma says the turkey was delicsous, Taste was very light, I'm used ta Hickory so this takes a bit a gettin used to. I think I would use it again.

How was the lilac for flavor? I have a few in my yard that I am going to removing in the next week or so. I was going to haul them off, but if I can use it for smoke, than that is what I will do. GREAT LOOKIN' BIRD - NICE COLOR!

Awesome looking smokes, Tip. The lilac wood sounded a bit interesting to smoke with

so I'm glad to hear it turned out fairly well. Switching from the strong taste of hickory to lilac was sure to shock those taste buds!

Great job - thanks for the qvue!

The lillac is very light, not alot of smoke flavor as I am used to. It's not bad either, I think this will be more suited ta fish an some poultry where one wan'ts the flavor of the seasonins to be predominant. A very useable wood though.

Glad the lilac was a success. I've found when using orange wood I get the same nice color. Great job as usual.
